Salma sayani
CHAIR | Mohkinstsis
Salma Sayani (she/her) was born in Kampala, Uganda in Africa and moved to Canada. She currently lives in Calgary, Alberta. She received her education in various colleges and universities and also has been involving board members at local, provincial, national and international levels. Her huge success was that she participated in the World Congress of the World Federation of the Deaf as a Special Events Chairperson in Montreal, Quebec in 2003.
She has creativity and understanding about the artists and their performances and her belief is “Success is Simple.” She’s looking forward to working with the organization to thrive in new challenges. Together, we can do it!
Thurga Kanagasekarampillai

Thurga Kanagasekarampillai (She/They) is Tamil Deaf Non-Binary Genderqueer artist. She has worked as Deaf Interpreter and ASL performer for many shows and projects including "The Enchanted Loom" (2016); Red Dress Production for “Drift Seeds” (2017); Million Billion Pieces (YTP 2019); The Holy Gasp (July 2020); Speculation (2018, 2019, 2021); Ministry of Mundane Mysteries with Outside the March (2020, Sound Off Festival 2021, 2022); At This Hour (2021/2023); Catfish (2023). She is also an actress and was in ‘The Tempest’ at Citadel Theatre as Miranda in Edmonton in April - May 2019.
She was the one of three founders of Deafies’ Unique Time with Ali Saeedi, and Ralitsa Rodriguez. Deafies’ Unique Time - ‘Eye So Twisted’ (Rhubarb Festival / Sound Off Festival 2019), Deafies Detective Agency (Sound Off Festival 2020.)
She is a founder of Deaf Heart Theatre Collective, a new artistic collective in Edmonton, AB and is also excited to be part of The Invisible Practice as a Co-Chair.

Chad Wolfe (he/him) is an Indigenous Deaf advocate and community activist. At this time, we do not have a formally prepared bio and look forward to sharing more about Chad during his 3-year term with us!
jenni stevens

Jenni Stevens (she/her) has been an ASL interpreter for more than 12 years and loves being part of organizations that make a difference. As Treasurer for The Invisible Practice, and with past experience in the same role on another non-profit board, she’s passionate about keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes and helping the team reach its goals.
michelle campos castillo

Michelle Campos Castillo (she/her) is a Salvadoran visual artist living in Edmonton, Alberta. She has been the recipient of several public art commissions from the City of Edmonton, including Platanos, a set of three sculptures on permanent display at Belvedere Transit Centre, and a collaboration with AJA Louden for the Edmonton Arts Council, currently in its initial stages.
Her illustrative exhibits include Terremoto, a solo project presented in the summer of 2022 at grunt gallery in Vancouver, BC and as part of Imborrable at the National Gallery in San Salvador, El Salvador, also in 2022. She is currently working on a graphic memoir titled Colonia, based on her life in El Salvador during the country’s civil war of the 1980s. Michelle is a Co-Executive Director at Latitude 53 in Edmonton.
