INTENTIONAL GATHERINGS
general arts community
We distributed approximately one hundred invitations to various arts organizations in Edmonton. None attended.
Many responses to our invitation indicated constraints of time, capacity, and availability. Many of those also indicated a preference to see what insights emerged first before engaging. Consequently, this gathering led to no new insights or possibilities for engaging Deaf artists more deeply with the general arts ecology.
As a result, we modified our long-term strategic planning. After Programming, Projects, and Productions, “Partnerships” was anticipated as the main route in which we would facilitate connections between Deaf artists and hearing-led organizations. Partnerships will no longer be pursued in our strategic plan.
Our five-year strategic plan will be announced in early 2026.
